Our Horses Doing More Beyond the Ranch
We want to highlight some of the things current customers are doing with our horses. We have had a lot of positive feedback and the pictures really speak for themselves of how versatile these ranch horses are. They are taking care of families as well as having success in the world of showing. As you can see they all enjoy being around people, and their families love them in return. All of us here at San Jon Ranch couldn't be more proud to see the joy folks are sharing with horses bred from our operation.
Merritt Ehrmantraut is 9 years old at her first show with Onion. She won several grand champions in both English and Western at their county fair! Onion started out as her mom, Hanna's, horse but according to Hanna, Onion loves Merritt. " We are very blessed to have him-he’s the million dollar horse!" We recently paired mom with a great gelding, Forest, and they seem to be getting along great. Now the whole family can go ride together!
Katie Mason and Cowpen Cat (aka Holly) have been to the AQHYA World show twice in the cutting and cow horse classes. In the mean time she shows her in high school rodeo cuttings and ranch horse competitions. Then Katie can take her home and put a friend aboard who has never been on a horse before. Susan told us, "she just fits right in here everyone(horsie) and human loves her!" We are so proud of this duo!
The Moody Family has been showing Red in SHOT shows for the past several years. He has supported their oldest daughter Whitney thru many wins in SHOT and Texas State 4-H shows. Now he is teaching their middle daughter, Trinity, who will win her first buckles on him! Wendi says, "he's a gentle giant & continues to teach our girls so much. He is the perfect little girl horse!" We are so grateful Red is in such a loving home!
Kendall Lynn is riding News in the Barrels and on their Montana Ranch. Kendall does lots and lots of bareback, even running barrels! Kendall's mom says, " This horse has been a Godsend as Kendall has been trying to get her riding confidence back after lots of Scoliosis obstacles to overcome." You would never know with all this hard work Kendall has done to strengthen her core! She is an inspiring young lady!
Kristen Bullard, 11 years old, has been riding Border Patroller (Aka Eddie) for the past year and has been turning heads every where they go. They won All-Around Champion for Natrona County Fair and they won their reining class at the Wyoming State Fair! They are a great team and being coached by former owner Kim Lance. Kim bought Eddie from us as a started two-year old and she put all the training on him; showing him in reining, trail, ranch pleasure, hunter under saddle and some jumping classes.
The Gundlach family is very proud of Shorty! She lives on the ranch in Montana and Lea can go out to catch her in the middle of the herd, jump on and way they go. She is so kind, and needs very little maintenance! Lea says you "never see her with her head up in the pasture," which we all chuckle about since all our horses tend to carry plenty of weight!
Chris Evertz bought a flashy brown gelding from us named Blitz. He was the top seller in the Sugar Bars Legacy Sale in 2010. Chris ranches and team ropes off him. Chris says, "Thank you for selling me an awesome horse!"
