San Jon Ranch cattle are comprised of commercial cows crossed on registered Red Angus bulls.  We keep most of our heifers for replacements and have continued this trend for the past twenty years.  As a result, our herd is very uniform both phenotypically and genetically.  This is proven not only by obervation, but also when the calves go to the scales in the fall.
